Number recognition road math playmat encourages young learners to say the numbers of each building as they drive by. Completely waterproof and spill proof. Just roll-up and store for the next time.
Numbered buildings along the way reinforce number recognition, addition, subtraction, problem-solving, charting Grades JK – 2.

Drive vehicles around the road

    • Honk the vehicle every time you drive past #3 etc. Use a tally chart to count how many #3s you find. This can be changed for different numbers or colors.
    • Drive up to a building and drop off mail (cubes) to match the number on the building.
    • Use road signs to direct traffic (e.g., stop sign, No Parking, speed limits). These can be made by students or teachers.
    • Add roadblocks or one-way street signs to help students problem solve moving around the map.
    • Ask students to drive around to find the numbers from 1 to 10 in sequence. They can also count backward from 10 to 1,  5 to 1, etc.
    • Drive around the map and cover.
    • Drive around and add cubes to the house numbers to create families of 10 e.g., add 3 cubes to number 7, add 5 cubes to number 5
    • Students can name some of the buildings or add signs (e.g., the score for the field).
    • Students can extend the map on craft paper.
    • Add N, S, W, E to the map and ask the students to move the vehicle north and then east etc.
    • Students can add up the house numbers on each block to find out which block has the highest value.
    • Students can find the triangle on the map.
    • Students can write words with three letters for the number 3 e.g., cat, mom, dog. In school, they may look at the word wall.
    • Students can name the streets on the road math playmat.
    • Students can compare city streets to country streets. What is the same and what is different?

If you want some padding like Little Bot playmats, you can slide yoga mats or carpet underpadding underneath for added comfort.

What Educators are Saying About Geyer

Justin has been nothing but helpful and professional in my requests for these Boeing Defense requirements. He has been able to answer my questions and concerns quickly, and helped in securing the order that I may have made with another supplier had be not been the value-add that he is to your company. I hope his merit raise this FY was "exceeds expectations".

..I contacted Geyer via email. I had an email back within minutes!.. A back and forth via email sometimes takes days with other companies and customer service doesn’t happen like this very often. When it does, it’s much appreciated. Brett at Geyer was very polite and accommodating!

John C.

The customer service rep went as far as to reach out to the manufacturer of a product to answer my question, and then provided pictures. She really went above and beyond and answered the question thoroughly and gave me exactly the information I was looking for. This entire process was also extremely fast.

Robert C.

I called to ask how to submit a Tax Exempt Certificate for my library and spoke to a real person, no automation or asking me to press a number. He was friendly, helpful and got our Tax Exempt status established immediately.

Mischelle F.

...I don't think I've ever experienced that level of customer service before, and taking it into consideration along with the quality of their products, I would absolutely recommend Geyer to fellow teachers.
