Learn important skills through creative play

This mat offers opportunities to practice basic robotics skills and have fun doing it: Students can use their robots' light or color sensors to move objects between the different colored planets, plot out a tour of the solar system, or go wherever their imagination brings them!

  • Printed in full color on heavy 13oz matte vinyl.
  • Fits in a standard FLL competition table or can be used on the floor. (44.75"x92.75" apx)
  • Works with most robots that have light and/or color sensors such as Lego's Spike, Edison, and VEX tabletop robots. 

Galaxy Mat activity  ideas

  • Mission 1: Pick up aliens from Alien Pick-Up centers and deliver them to the matching planet color.
  • Mission 2: Retrieve space trash and drop it off at the space trash dump
  • Mission 3: Rescue Bob the alien from free floating in the galaxy and help return him to his home.
  • Mission 4: HELP! Bob’s space car is stranded on Planet Green and his suitcase has floated away to Planet Purple. Deliver his missing items to his home.
  • Mission 5: Retrieve fuel cells from space and return them to the Galaxy Airport to refuel the UFOs.
