Ten different tests of the air and water around us can be performed with this kit. The students will be interested to know that their experiments duplicate those actually carried out by state and federal agencies. Six water tests look for dissolved oxygen, hardness, chloride, phosphate, hydrogen sulfide and PH. The kit also gives air tests for suspended particles, smoke density, the air density of chemicals and carbon dioxide. These tests are easy to do and produce clear, visible results. Many of the tests give or estimate quantitative results. The kit includes 10 test chemicals, other test equipment, three charts and a reproducible laboratory manual. Each test can be repeated several times. A versatile way of doing realistic tests, this kit is an excellent introduction to air and water evaluation.
