By Brain Bolt. This dictionary contains definitions and examples of the mathematical words likely to be encountered by pupils aged 11 to 16. It will be of particular value to those studying GCSE courses. Over 500 mathematical words are defined, and there are plenty of examples and illustrations to help with the concepts. In the main the student will use the book for reference to words they are unsure of or do not understand. They may well find new ideas to interest them which can be followed up with the teacher or in other books. Cross-referencing is done in two ways. Words in red have their own entries elsewhere in the book and related words which they might also look up are given at the end of an explanation. 160 pp. |
